Abstract
Objective It is to evaluate the clinical effect that montelukast control the symptom and the relapse of asthma in difference treatment period. Methods The control group(64 cases) was inhaled according to GINA prescription in difference severity degree(inhaled Becotide and salbutamol Sulfate).Shorter treatment group(30 cases) was added montelukast based on conventional therapy for 6 weeks.Long treatment group(49 cases) was added montelukast based on GINA prescription for 6 months. After the treatment had end,the patients was followed-up for 6~12 months. Results After treatment, the clinical symptoms(cough, wheeze or shortness of breath) disappear time in shorter treatment group was(2.67±0.81) d, that in long treatment group was(2.55±0.66) d,and that in control group was(3.01±0.78) d.The lung sign disappear times were(1.77±0.79) d,(1.98±0.54) d and(2.21±0.98) d.The bout frequencis were 61.32±25.87,94.23±27.12 and 144.57±36.35 person-day.The bout times were(4.46±2.29) d,(4.61±2.88) d and(8.12±3.47) d.The satisfaction score were(90.85±24.69)%,(88.78±21.55)% and(49.64±16.67)%.The clinical symptom relieving time and the lung sign disappearing time among the three groups were no significant difference. The bout time and the satisfaction score in the two groups that added montelukast had significantly difference with that in the control group(P0.01),but there were no significant difference in the two groups that added montelukast.Acute outbreak cough symptom-relieving time in the groups that added montelukast were shorter than that in control group(P0.01).Conclusion When montelukast was added, the clinical symptoms and lung signs was more rapidly relieved, and significantly shorted the acute outbreak cough symptoms duration. But the long treatment group was not better than the shorter treatment group in preventing from asthma symptom relapse.
