Observation on the effect of atorvastatin calcium in preventing the recurrence of ischemic stroke

OBJECTIVE To study on the effect of atorvastatin calcium on ischemic stroke recurrence prevention.METHODS 100 cases of first ischemic stroke patients after active treatment in patients with stable disease were randomly divided into control group and treatment group.The control group received conventional enteric-coated tablets of aspirin 100mg/day.The treatment group received atorvastatin calcium 20mg/day,taking a total of 1 year.We analyzed the changes in blood lipids were analyzed,changes in carotid artery plaque and ischemic stroke risk of recurrence.RESULTS Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol of the treatment group was(2.63±1.25)mmol/L,the control group was(4.38±1.85)mmol/L.Two groups had significant difference(t = 2.426,P﹤0.05).Carotid artery plaque score in treatment group was 4.05±2.16,and the control group was 6.51±2.23.Two groups had significant difference(t = 2.851,P﹤0.05).Ischemic stroke to prevent recurrence rate of treatment group and control groups respectively was(5%)and(16%),Two groups had significant differences(χ2 = 4.80,P﹤0.05).CONCLUSION Atorvastatin calcium can prevent the recurrence of ischemic stroke.
