Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between the lower extremity arterial disease and the blood stasis syndrome in diabetic, and provide evidences for the early treatment and prevention of this disease. Methods A total of 459 cases of diabetic patients were included.Basic data and TCM clinical information were collected, and clinical examination of lower extremity arterial diseases was performed.Differentiation of symptoms and signs for classification of syndrome with or without blood stasis was performed in all patients. The indexes correlated to the lower extremity arterial disease were detected in 147 cases among the total. The correlation between diabetic lower extremity arterial disease and blood stasis syndrome was observed. Results Nearly 75 percent of diabetic patients had syndrome of blood stasis. The morbidity rate of lower extremity arterial diseases in diabetic with the blood stasis syndrome was significantly higher than that without blood stasis(P0.01).The OR value of blood stasis on the risk of lower extremity arterial diseases in diabetic was 4.737.The morbidity rate of peripheral arterial disease in diabetic with the blood stasis syndrome was significantly higher than that without blood stasis(P0.01).Conclusion Most of diabetic patients are complicated with blood stasis.Blood stasis is an important etiological factor of lower extremity arterial diseases in diabetic.
