On the Relationship between Government and Society in the Harmonious Society

To construct harmonious socialist society, stresses should be laid upon the smooth relationship between government and society in the purpose of achieving harmony and unity of the two. In order to realize the good interactions of the government's management and supervision of the society, balance should be attained between the public rights of the government and the private rights of the society, and efforts should be paid to cultivate and explore social functions; secondly, focus should be put on the transition of the government functions, on the construction of service-type government, on the cultivation of the independence of society with the expectation of realizing the society rights' supervision of the government's rights, of getting back those rights that basically belong to the Only in this way can we realize the ideal of building a harmonious society.
