Abstract
Objective To have knowledge about the status of employment anxiety and coping style of university graduates and the correlation between them.Method 449 graduates were investigated with coping style scale and state-trait anxiety scale. Results Differences in state anxiety and trait anxiety between undergraduates and junior college graduates were statistically significant(p0.01);differences in state anxiety levels of university graduates in different majors were statistically significant(p0.01);scores of coping style of university graduates ranking the top three were problem solving, assistance and fantasy, and differences in coping styles such as avoidance and rationalization in university graduates of different majors were statistically significant;the state anxiety of university students was negatively correlated with problem solving(p0.01),and the trait anxiety and state anxiety were both positively correlated with vainglory, avoidance and rationalization(p0.01).Conclusion Anxiety is correlated with the university level and major;for the coping style of university graduates, problem solving, help seeking and fantasy are preferred;problem solving is helpful to relieve anxiety while self-abusiveness,avoidance and rationalization will increase anxiety levels.
