Abstract

In an investigation of the virus types infecting tobacco plants in the fields of Chongqing's Wulong county, all the tobacco samples (were found to be) taken in the study were infected with TMV (tobacco mosaic virus). All samples were involved in the co-infection of TMV, TuMV(Turnip mosaic virus), PVY (potato Y virus),and CMV (cucumber mosaic virus). About 30.77% of the infections were caused by a mixture of these 4 viruses. ELISA results revealed that highest titer of TMV and lowest concentration of TuMV occurred in the mixed infection.
