Effect of selected Probiotic in the control of antibiotic-associated gastrointestinal microflora disorders

Abstract

In this study,we evaluated the influence of the administration of selected Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus plantarum on the composition of the fecal microbiota in an antibiotic-associated gastrointestinal microflora disorders mouse model.First,Specific-pathogen-free(SPF)mice received Clindamycin hydrochloride in drinking water(final concentration was 1.2 g/L)for 6 days resulting antibiotic-associated diarrhoea mouse models.Then,orally intubated with 0.5 ml of the mixture of Lactobacillus acidophilus and Lactobacillus plantarum(with various amounts;107cfu/mL,108cfu/mL,109cfu/mL),sterile saline as control.The results showed that the initial level was recovered more rapidly in the mice treated by mixture contains probiotics than in the control mice and the effective dose was 107mL-1.
