Relationship between Ureaplasma urealyticum infection and pelvic inflammation

Objective To survey the the infection rates of Ureaplasma urealyticum in patients with pelvic inflammation.Methods 128 patients with pelvic inflammation were randomly chosen.Excretion of cervix of patients with pelvic inflammation were collected.MB antigen gene of Ureaplasma urealyticum was amplified by polymerase chain reaction(PCR).Results The infection rate of Ureaplasma urealyticum was 51.56%(66/128).The infection rate in age group between 31~40 year was the highest(62.22%) followed by age group of 21~30 years(57.5%) and 43.48% in the agegrou of 41~50 years and lowest om age group of over 51 years(25%).Conclusions Ureaplasma urealyticum infection is closely associated with pelvic inflammation,especially in young females.
