Abstract
Purpose] To investigaet the expression of uPA and uPA-R in breast carcinoma and benign breast tumor, and its biological significance. [Methods] The expression of uPA and uPA-R in 57 Cases with breast cancer and 15 cases with breast benign disease (control) were detected by immunohisto method. [Result] The positive rate of uPA and uPA-R in breast cancer group was significantly higher than that in benign breast disease group(P0.05). In patients with node involvment, the positive rate of uPA and uPA-R was significantly higher than that in patients without node metastasis (P0.05). The expression of uPA and uPA-R was correlated with TNM staging and the size of tumor, but not with ER receptor and PR receptor. In patients with poor differentiation, expression of uPA and uPA-R increased but was not statistically significant. [Conclusion] The expression of uPA and uPA-R is correlated with the invasion and metastasis of breast carcinoma. And it may also be a strong biological marker for predicting the prognosis of breast carcinoma.
