Microsurgical Treatment Experience of 26 Cases of Falx Meningiomas

Abstract
Objective To discuss the microsurgical treatment of falx meningioma.Methods A retrospective study was carried out on 26 patients with cerebral falx meningioma treated with microsurgery from Jan.2002 to Jun 2007.Results With reference to Simpson's meningioma classification,24 patients achieved Simpson grade I resection and 2 cases achieved Simpson grade Ⅱ～Ⅲ resection.There was no death due to operation and no recurrence was found during average 40 months follow-up period(6 months to 5 years).Conclusion Microsurgical technique can obviously increase tumor total removal and avoid recurrence and other severe complications.
