Analysis of the effect of clinical nursing path in health education for the elderly patients with oral cancer receiving operation

Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of clinical nursing path in health education for the elderly patients with oral cancer receiving operation. Methods Fifty elderly patients with oral cancer receiving operation in our hospital from2012 January to December 2013 were enrolled in this study. According to the nursing method they were divided into the conventional nursing group and the clinical nursing path group,25 cases in each group. The effects of nursing intervention were evaluated with health knowledge awareness rate,satisfaction rate of nursing job,compliance and depression,anxiety score. Results The awareness rate of knowledge and nursing satisfaction in the clinical nursing path group were 89. 51± 4. 03 and 92. 60 ± 3. 37,compared with 81. 03 ± 3. 49 and 84. 27 ± 2. 64 in the conventional nursing group( P 0. 05); The compliance in the clinical nursing path group was 9. 82 ± 0. 61,compared with 7. 15 ± 0. 43 in the conventional nur-sing group(P 0. 05); HAMD and HAMA score was 19. 25 ± 1. 90 and 23. 44 ± 2. 21 in the clinical nursing path group,compared with 24. 01 ± 2. 38 and 27. 69 ± 2. 14 in the conventional nursing group( P 0. 05). Conclusions Clinical nursing path used in health education for the elderly patients with oral cancer receiving operation could improve the awareness rate of health knowledge,improving patient compliance and nurses' job satisfaction,and reducing the anxiety and depression in patients.
