Comparative Study of the Applications of PICC Catheter Insertion for Cancer Patients'Medical Treatment via External Jugular Vein and Basilic Vein

Objective By comparing the applications of catheter insertion via external jugular vein and basilic vein,provide clinic foundation for that external jugular vein is the best choice of peripherally inserted central venous catheter(PICC) operation.Methods Compare 42 cases of basilic vein catheterization group and 33 cases of external jugular vein catheterization group from three aspects of catheter insertion complication,patient satisfaction and clinical care.Results The complication incidence of external jugular vein catheterization group is significantly lower than that of basilic vein catheterization group(P 0.05);Patients satisfaction and clinical care of external jugular vein catheterization group are higher than those of basilica vein catheterization group as well.Conclusion External jugular vein catheterization is the best choice for the patients who receive long-term chemotherapy treatments and midterm and long-term venous infusion.
