Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of angiotensin-(1-7)[Ang-(1-7)]on expression of connective tissue growth factor(CTGF) in cultured glomerular mesangial cells(GMC) stimulated by transforming growth factor β1(TGF-β1).Methods Cell proliferation was evaluated by WST assay and CTGF mRNA expression in GMC was analyzed by RT-PCR.Results Compared with controll group,Ang-(1-7) significantly inhibit cultured GMC proliferation induced by TGF-β1(P0.05);and also inhibits the mRNA expression of CTGF induced by TGF-β1 in cultured GMC(P0.05).Conclusion Ang-(1-7) can inhibit the proliferation of GMC induced by TGF-β1 and the mechanisms may be associated with effects of suppressing CTGF expression.
