Abstract
The axial compressive ratio has always been a vital element in design relating to seismic behavior of a shear wall.In this paper, some achievements have been briefly introduced about seismic behavior of a reinforced concrete shear wall and a steel reinforced concrete shear wall. The influence of the axial compressive ratio on seismic property of the shear wall is emphatically introduced. The experimental study on the seismic behavior of three 1/3 scale shear walls, including a shear wall with steel frame,a shear wall with steel truss and a usual one,has been studied. The experimental results show that, compared with the usual shear wall, the seismic behavior of the shear wall with steel frame and the shear wall with steel truss has been observably improved under high axial compressive ratio condition.
