Abstract

ObjectiveTo observe the Beagle dog chronic toxicity induced by Qinzhi Capsule taken orally.MethodsThe Beagle dogs were orally given Qinzhi Capsule for 28 days with the doses of 4.0,8.0 and 16.0g(crude medicinal materials)/kg(10,20 and 40 times of clinic dose) and for 14 days of stopping administration. The Beagle dog's weights, organ coefficients, the indexes of hematology and biochemistry were determined. The cardiogram and the pathological examination were carried out.ResultsThe outer appearance and behavior, weights, organ coefficient, the cardiogram, the indexes of hematology and biochemistry in Beagle dogs had no significant difference by comparing with control group. The pathological examination did not discover significant pathological changes related to drug toxicity and the delayed toxicity reaction after drug administration.ConclusionQinzhi Capsule has no significant toxicity for long-term administration on Beagle dogs.It infers that the drawing up doses in clinic will be safe.
