Abstract
Objective: To study the influence of valsartan to correlated inflammatory cytokine in early stage of type 2 diabetic nephropathy and the protection to diabetic nephropathy. Methods: Sixty patients with early stage of type 2 diabetic nephropathy were divided randomly into two groups, including 30 patients with conventional therapy,30 patients with therapy of valsartan.Blood glucose, blood fat, serum creatinine and C reactive protein(CRP) were measured by automatic biochemistry analyzer.Twenty-four hours urine protein was measured by dry-type chemical method.Urinary albumin excretion rate(UAER) was measured by radio-immunity method.Serum transforming growth factor β1(TGF-β1),interlukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interlukin-18(IL-18) were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) method.Results:(1) ALB/Cr,24-hour urine protein and UAER of the group with therapy of valsartan were significantly decreased after therapy and no significant difference of blood pressure could be seen.(2) Level of serum CRP,TGF-β1,IL-6,IL-18 and TNF-α of group with therapy of valsartan were significantly decreased after the therapy. Conclusion: besides of lowering blood pressure, valsartan can also postpone the development of diabetic nephropathy by decreasing the level of correlated serum inflammatory cytokines and urine protein.
