Abstract
The effect of ischemic preconditioning on the cardiac functions, and the LDH and MDA levels of isolated rat heart during the ischemia and reperfusion were observed in the present study by using the Langendorff model. It showed that the ischemic preconditioning might promote the recovery of myocardial contractile and diastolic functions and the decrease in the LDH and MDA levels. The results indicated that the ischemic preconditioning could possess protective effect for rat myocardium during the ischmia and reperfusion injury. The mechanism might be due to a decrease in the effect of oxygen free radicals.
