Setting of uncontrolled crosswalk on road section based on traffic benefit

In order to make the crosswalk serve cross-street pedestrian better and do not influence the vehicles greatly,setting conditions and the location of uncontrolled crosswalk on road section were studied.The law of pedestrians and vehicles moving on the road with or without the setting of uncontrolled crosswalk was analyzed,and two methods of calculating total traffic expenses under above two conditions were proposed.The comparison shows that the setting of uncontrolled crosswalk should obey the maximal traffic benefit.Then an optimal location model for uncontrolled crosswalk sitting was established on the basis of the minimal total expenses,the enumeration method and inherit algorithm were used to optimize the location,and example verification was given.This study can be used to guide the setting of uncontrolled crosswalk on road section and optimize the pedestrian crossing environment.
