Abstract

Objective To observe the efficacy of hyperthermia integrated with transcatheter hepatic artery chemoembolization in the treatment of primary liver cancer. Methods Fifty-five cases of primary liver cancer were randomized into two groups:group A(n=24) with treatment of hyperthermia combined with transcatheter hepatic artery chemoembolization and group B(n=31) with treatment of transcatheter hepatic artery chemoembolization alone. The effects and survival rates of 1,2 years were compared in two groups. Results The effect rate in group A was higher than that in group B (83.3% vs 58.1%,P0.05).In group A,The survival rates of 1,2years were 79.2%(19/24) and 50.0%(12/24) respectively;in group B,the survival rates of 1,2 years were 61.3%(19/31) and 16.1%(5/31) respectively.Survival rates of 1-year had no difference in two groups(P0.05),but survival rate of 2-year in group A was higher than that in group B (P0.05).Compared with group B,there was no increasing of adverse effects in group A.Conclusions Hyperthermia combined with transcatheter hepatic artery chemoembolization for primary liver cancer is a safe and effective regimen, and is worthy of promotion and further study.
