Abstract
[Objective] To explore incidence and the related factors of post-stroke depression (PSD). [Method] 243 patients with stroke were evaluated by Hamilton depression rating scale (HAMD) and age, gender, degree of culture, marriage, number of lesion, lesion location and kind of lesion were invested. [Results] The incidence of depression in patients with stroke was 39.9% (97/243). Among them 51(52.6%) were mild, 29 (29.9%) moderate and 17(17.5%) grave. Statistical analysis showed that important related factors of post-stroke depression in age, degree of culture, marriage and lesion location but not in gender, number of lesion and kind of lesion on the occurrence of PSD. [Conclusion] The incidence of post-stroke depression is higher and Post-stroke depression may be caused by both neurobiological and psychosocial factors.
