Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of hemodialysis(HD) on the disorders of calcium phosphate metabolism and secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) in patients with chronic renal failure (CRF).Methods We tested the serum levels of iPTH,calcium ion, phosphate of 27 non dialytic and 18 dialytic CRF patients. Results Compared with non dialytic CRF patients, in those CRF patients with maintaining hemodialysis treatment, the serum levels of calcium ion( P 0.05),phosphate( P 0.1) and iPTH( P 0.1) had no significant changes. Conclusion Hemodialysis can't effectively improve the disorder of calcium phosphate metabolism and SHPT.
