Abstract
ObjectiveTo evaluate the value of chemotherapy with radiotherapy in advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma.Methods52 patients were divided randomly into two groups.Radiotherapy group(26 cases) was only treated with DT70~74Gy/7~7.5W in nasopharyngeal and DT50~65Gy/5~6.5W in the neck.Chemoradiotherapy group(26 cases) received chemotherapy with DDP+5FU during the first week and the fifth week.ResultsThe 1-,2- and 3-year survival rates were 88.46%?73.08%?53.85% in radiotherapy group and 92.31%?80.77%?73.08% in chemoradiotherapy group respectively. No significant difference was found between the two groups in 1- and 2-year survival rates, but there was in 3-year survival rate.ConclusionRadiotherapy with chemotherapy can increase the survival rates and decrease the distant metastasis in advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
