Abstract
In the period of five dynasties and ten states, the military governorship of late Tang dynasty continued to develop. The establishment of Later Liang marked the end of the chaotic situation of Late Tang dynasty and the beginning of unification.Since then, many states were striving,to different degrees, for the unification of the country. In the end,on the basis of the Shi Zong, the emperor of Late Zhou,North Song continued Shi Zong's unfinished cause of unification, and put an end to the chaotic situation which lasted about two centuries. Therefore, this period was also a transitional period when the trend of unification was continuously growing and at last, the unification was completed by North Song.
