Abstract

The suitable catalyst to prepare dimethyl adipate was found out by compare the catalytic activity and stability of strong acid cation exchange resin applied to many industries.Preparation of dimethyl adipate was studied using D001 strong acid cation exchange resin as catalyst.The obtained optimum reaction conditions were the molar ratio of methanol to adipic acid 5: 1,catalyst content 8%,reaction temperature 85 ~ 90℃,reaction time 3.5h.The experimental results indicated that the yield of the ester could reach 92%.
