Abstract

The anti-high temperature foam drilling fluid is one of the most effective drilling fluids for exploitation in deep wells,ultra deep wells,high temperature geothermal wells,and hot dry rock drilling,especially for drilling of ultra-high temperature resources. This paper present the high-temperature foam treating agents and foam drilling fluid systems,and analyzes the main problems that high-temperature foam drilling fluids face. In deep wells,ultra deep wells,hot dry rock drilling and geothermal well drilling,formations with ultra high temperature,low pressure and easily to leakage are common challenges. Therefore,the requirements of the low density drilling fluid system are increasingly higher,and the main technological difficulty is the control of the performance of high-temperature,low pressure and narrow density drilling fluids. It is inferred from the progress of high temperature resistant foam drilling fluids that the development directions of the future high temperature resisting drilling fluid are the foam drilling fluid which is capable of resistance above 260℃,low density foam drilling fluid agents and foam drilling fluid systems,high temperature foam drilling fluid testing equipment and its evaluation methods.
