Abstract
This paper proposes a combined decoding algorithm for Turbo codes in order to make tradeoffs between the calculation complexity and the performance of three common decoding algorithms for Turbo codes,Log-MAP,MAX-Log-MAP and SOVA.By combining Log-MAP and SOVA algorithms during decoding, this algorithm reduces the decoding complexity significantly with slightly lower decoding performance, thereby reducing the decoding delay of the whole system to satisfy communication systems with high real-time requirements.
