The Spiritualized Imagery Structure in Yuxi Poems and Menchuan Epics

The connection between the poems of Li Shangying and those of Wu Wenying is prominently exhibited in their artistic structure. The two poets not only set great store by the subtlety of the composition of art and the tropes, but also draw imagery through the window and chaotic spiritual field respectively. These images are constructed layers on layers and loaded with profound emotion thus take on a new look of a spiritualized imagery structure with fantastic characteristics. This structure follows the poets' emotional logic and the writing mentality is full of leaps and bounds and highly subjective to some extent. It also changes the realistic relationship between time and space, object and subject, fiction and reality. The sudden shift of time and space, the implication of emotion, the mixture of subject and object, the interchangeability and interconnection of the fictional and the realistic, all indicate some breakthrough and surpass in artistic expression brought about by this structure.
