A Review and Analysis of the Issue about Appreciation of RMB

Abstract

The problem about appreciation of RMB has drawn people′attention. By making a review and analysis of the arguments and argumentations for appreciation of RMB, this paper analyses the influence after appreciation of RMB. The conclusion is that appreciation of RMB will make the situation worse. So, under the pressure from appreciation of RMB, we should adopt independent exchange rate policy, keep the RMB exchange rate stable and practice directive floating rate institution. Meanwhile, the formation of RMB exchange rate mechanism should be adjusted and improved gradually.
