Abstract
Objective:To explore the restoration methods of the application of orthodontic traction, gingivectomy and conservation of subgingival residual roots before restoration in anterior teeth roots damaged below the gingival margin(1.5 mm~)(3.0 mm). Methods:Five selected patients were carried out orthodontic traction(4cases were trauma, and 1 case was root caries). The patients with gingival margin higher than the next teeth were performed gingivectomy to adjust the gingiva contour. Then the roots were fixed for 2 or 3 months to do the restoration of post crown. Results:Five patients found more contented effects. Conclusion:By orthodontic traction before restoration, the residual roots below subgingival(3 mm) were drawn from subgingival level to supragingival level to do gingivectomy and rehabilitate gingiva normal shape. In this way,we not only maintain the unrestored roots but also acquire ideal function and esthetic results.
