Abstract
Objective To explore the nursing of post-operative respiratory failure in aged patients with lung cancer using mechanical ventilation. Methods The clinical data of 18 aged patients with post-operative respiratory failure from March 2004 to December 2009 were analyzed retrospectively. They were all treated with mechanical ventilation, control pulmonary infection and nutrition support. Results Sixteen cases were cured(88.9%),1 case died and 1 case left hospital. Conclusion The aged patients with post-operative respiratory failure should be treated with mechanical ventilation in time.Modes of the ventilation should be appropriate.Nutrition support, the usage of antibiotics in treating primary should be emphasized. Early treatment can reduce mortality of respiratory failure.
