Observations on the Therapeutic Effect of Acupuncture on Migraine

Objective To investigate the clinical therapeutic effect of acupuncture on migraine.Methods Sixty migraine patients were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups,35 cases each.The treatment group received acupuncture and the control group,medication.The therapeutic effects were compared after two courses of treatment.Results The total efficacy rate was 94.3% in the treatment group and 43.8% in the control group;there was a statistically significant difference between the two groups(P0.01).There were statistically significant pre-/post-treatment differences in various headache indices in both groups of patients(P0.01).There were statistically significant post-treatment differences in various headache indices between the treatment and control groups(P0.01).Conclusion Acupuncture is an effective way to treat migraine.
