Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effectiveness transplantation of greater omentum in treatment of avascular necrosis of the femoral head in adult.Methods:53 cases of avascular necrosis of the femoral head in adult(Ficat staging Ⅱb,20 cases;stage Ⅲ,29 cases;Ficat early stage Ⅳ,4 cases) were treated with the pediculated transplantation of greater omentum. Results:In 48 cases, the pain disappeared;in 3 cases the pain got relieved;X-ray revealed the collapse of the femoral head stopped in all of the cases.According to the modified Evaluation Criteria for Hip Joint Function, the overall rate of excellent and good results were higher than 90.57%.Conclusions:This was shown that this technique could reconstruct the blood circulation to the femoral head and decrease intra-femoral pressure.Thereby,it would interrupt the segmented collapse of the femoral head in the late stage and might be an ideal therapeutic option for avascular necrosis of the femoral head in adult.
