Abstract

Objective:To study the localization and expression of matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2)mRNA in human laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma tissue. Methods:The amount of expression of 50 laryngeal carcinoma patients,50 cases primary tissues lateral carcinoma, lymph node,20 cases normal tissue was analyzed by the immunohistochemical analysis. The MMP-2 protein in ISH(immunohistochemistry)was evaluated by the image analysis. In addition, the correlation between the MMP-2 mRNA expression and clinicopathological features(pathology grades,T stages, lymph node metastasis)wasevaluated. Results:The MMP-2mRNA was observed in carcinoma cell and stromal cytoplasm,Although the MMP-2mRNA expression in laryngeal carcinoma tissues was high than the lateral tissues,it was not correlated with clinicopathological features(the tumor T stage, pathology grades, lymph node metastasis). Conclusion:The MMP-2mRNA was observed in carcinoma cell and stromal cytoplasm.MMP-2mRNA expression in the primary tissues in laryngeal carcinoma was the highest among these samples,it maybe an early information of carcinoma invasion and lymph node metastasis.
