Index System and Quantitative Analysis of Urban and Rural Integration in Hunan Province

In order to evaluate and analyze the process of urban and rural integration of Hunan Province,this article constructed an index system from urban-rural development,urban-rural balance,urban-rural coordination in the analytic hierarchy process(AHP),and calculated the urban-rural integration index from 2005 to 2009 in Hunan Province and the integration index of various cities of the Province in 2008.The results have shown that,in recent years,the development of urban-rural integration in Hunan Province is quick,and the progress in the coordination of urban-rural areas is significant.However,there has been no obvious improvement in urban-rural balance.At the same time,the development of urban and rural integration in various cities is imbalanced,with the differences mainly in urban-rural development and urban-rural coordination.
