Abstract
Objective:To observe the clinical effect of modified Ten-Jujube decoction combined with Western medicine in the treatment of ascites due to hepatitis B cirrhosis. Methods:A total of 108 patients with ascites due to hepatitis B cirrhosis were randomly divided into control group(n = 54) and treatment group(n = 54).Both groups received Western medicine symptomatic treatment, and the treatment group received oral modifie decoction as an addition. After one month of treatment, the clinical outcome, reduction in ascites,24-h urine volume, and liver function indices were evaluated, and follow-up was performed for 3 and 6 months to detect cases of recurrence. Results:The treatment group had a significantly higher response rate than the control group(72.22% vs 51.85%,P 0.05).There were also significant differences in 24-h urine volume increase, recovery of liver function indices, and recurrence rate of ascites between the two groups(P 0.05).Conclusion:Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine therapy has a better clinical effect than Western medicine symptomatic treatment in patients with ascites due to hepatitis B cirrhosis.
