Abstract
Objective To explore the clinical characteristics of different types of cerebral infarction by observing the extracranial carotid artery. Methods 24 cases which were diagnosed as cerebral infarction were exanined by carotid artery color doppler ultrasound,whole-brain and carotid artery digital subtraction angiography(DSA)examination. The vascular abnormality from the examination would be analysed retrospectively. Results There were carotid artery stenosis and plaque in all cases. And bilateral carotid artery stensis and plaque could be seen in 5 cases. Conclusion Abnormal carotid artery is the major cause of cerebral infarction.Doctors should pay attention to it.
