A Textual Research of Shaqiu a Capital of Five Emperors in Yin and Shang Dynasty

Abstract

Shaqiu lies in Guangzong County.It was an ideal place for a capital because of its favorable geological,climatic,humanistic, watering and flood controlling conditions.Symbols of ancient capitals,such as palaces,temples,hunting grounds and platforms,can be found in Guangzong. It is thus inferred that Zuyi,an emperor of the Shang Dynasty moved his capital to Guangzong,and his successors,Zuxin,Wojia,Zuding and Nangeng,also set their capital in this area.
