Abstract
Based on the GIS/RS techniques and the methods of landscape ecology, this paper has chosen Bajiang basin as the study region,selected some landscape pattern indices which change with the land use variety to reflect the landscape area, such as area percentage of landscape, fragmentation index, diversity index, evenness index and dominance index. The results show that: the main landscape patterns are cultivated land, forestland, grass-land and unavailable land, and the landscape pattern changed greatly during the study period. Rural and urban areas,cultivated land, forest land area are expanding, unavailable land, grass-land, water area are showing a decrease trend. Landscape diversity, evenness and dominance are small changes.
