Research on Using UDP Encapsulation to Realize NAT Traversal in VPN

Abstract

The main problem is how to make IPSec cooperate with N AT if you want to realize NAT traversal in VPN. The paper discusses the reason why IPSec can' t cooperate with NAT in VPN firstly, and then it gives a NAT traversal scheme, which uses UDP encapsulate IPSec data. This NAT traversal scheme is simple but effective, and it is useful to develop practical NAT trav ersal products.
