Abstract
This paper used the observed data from Nov. 1999 to Oct. 2002 and testified quasi-2D sediment numerical model of the Yellow River. The result shows that the model can agree with observed data in silt evolvement, sectional adjusting, flood and sediment routing, water level variation and exchange process between bed load and suspended load. This model is fit for the lower reach of Yellow river which is undergoing great change of water and sediment condition because of the operation Xiaolangdi Reservoir. It may also bring into effect to operation way of the Xiaolangdi Reservoir, riverbed harness of the lower reach in the Yellow river and decision-making of flood control.
