Abstract
One strain of Newcastle disease virus (NDV) isolated from duck in Shandong was proved virulent in terms of median embryo lethal dose (ELD50) of 107.85/0.1 mL,mean death time (MDT) of 48.5 h,intracerebral pathogenicity index (ICPI) of 1.80,and intravenous pathogenicity index (IVPI) of 2.36. The cleavage site of F protein of the virus was 112RRQKRF117,and was accorded with highly pathogenic strain. By analyzing genotype and homology of F gene of SDLP09 and other NDV strains, it showed that SDLP09 belonged to genotype Ⅶ,and had higher homology with virulent NDV from wild duck.
