Variable CT manifestations of primary retroperitoneal liposarcoma

【Objective】To explore the variable CT presentations of primary retroperitoneal liposarcoma.【Methods】21 cases of liposarcoma have been reviewed retrospectively,which were confirmed by pathology and operation.【Results】Due to the differences in their historical differentiation,there were lots of patterns on their CT images: fat was demonstrated in 6 cases mainly;myxoid tissue was revealed in 3 cases mainly;soft-tissue attenuation found in 6 cases and mixed tissue shown in 6 cases.【Conclusions】These complex CT manifestations of primary retroperitoneal liposarcoma are resulted from the different parts of pathologic tissue and their growing methods,some tumors without well-differentiated fat are difficult to be distinguished from other mesenchymal sarcomas.
