Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between the brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) levels of patients with different types of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and the coronary artery lesions. Methods A total of 121 patients with ACS were divided into the ST-elevation acute myocardial infarction (STEAMI) group with 40 patients,the non-ST elevation acute myocardial infarction (NSTEAMI) group with 43 patients and the unstable angina pectoris (UAP) group with 38 patients. Then the BNP levels were measured. Results The BNP level of the STEAMI group was significantly higher than that of the NSTEAMI group and the UAP group (P 0.01); The BNP level of the NSTEAMI group was significantly higher than that of the UAP group (P 0.01). The three-vessel lesion and the two-vessel lesion were significantly higher than the single vessel lesion in the BNP level (P 0.01). Conclusion The BNP level is of important clinical value to the risk stratification and condition assessment of ACS.
