Abstract
In recent years the huge achievements of experimental and theoretic research have been obtained about the negative refractive index medium. In order to get the electromagnetic properties of this new compound material, the characteristics of reflection and transmission are studied according to Maxwell electromagnetism theory at the interface of the positive and negative refractive index media. The Snell reflection laws and refraction laws are also established, but the refractive rays and the incident rays are located at the same side of the normal. The Fresnel expressions of reflection coefficients and transmission coefficients are also obtained. For the TE wave or the TM wave, the reflection coefficient will become zero at a certain incident angle. These results have instructional significances to design new electromagnetic and optic components.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
