Abstract

Objective: To observe the anterior chamber angle and intraocular pressure after phacoemulsification and foldable posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation through clear corneal insicion. Methods:Forty-six patients(50 eyes) with senile cataract were underwent phacoemulsification and foldable posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation through 3.5 mm clear corneal incision, the preoperative and postoperative anterior chamber angle and intraocular pressure were compared between preoperation and postoperation. Results: The preoperative and postoperative(at postoperative 6 month) intraocular pressure was (13.76 mmHg,) (12.81 mmHg), respectively(P0.05).The iris diaphragm was flat to mild concave which lead the width of anterior chamber angle increased postoperation, no peripheral synechia was found. Conclusion: Phacoemulsification and foldable posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation through clear corneal incision had no significant influence on the long term intraocular pressure in simple senile cataract patients, the width of anterior chamber angle increased postoperation.
