Abstract
Aim:To investigate the relationship between the polymorphism of APOlipoprotein A5 gene c553G/T and cerebral infarction.Methods:140 patients with cerebral infarction and 129 healthy controls were collected to determine the genotypes by using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphisms. Results:TT homozygotes and GT heterozygotes had a significantly higher triglyceride, cholesterol,LDL levels and lower HDL in both case group and control group;c553T genotype was an independent risk factor with CE(OR=6.269,P=0.016).Conclusion:APOA5 c553G/T polymorphism has association with plasma triglyceride, cholesterol,HDL,LDL levels.APOA5 c553T genotype may be an independent risk factor with cardioembolism.
