Abstract
A total of 720 strains were isolated from the soil and 32 strains which have antagonistic activity against Colletoichum gloeosporioides were screened via preliminary screening.A strain named 8-59 with a rather higher antagonistic activity was obtained after secondary screening. Thus the morphology characteristics, physiological and biochemical properties and 16S rDNA se- quence of this strain were further studied. As the morphological characteristics and physiological and biochemical characteristics of the stain are similar to Bacillus vallismortis and the similarity of the 16S rDNA sequences between 8-59 strain and the type strain was up to 99.49 %,the 8-59 strain was finally identified as Bacillus vallismortis.
