Abstract

One of the most important factors affecting the boiler efficiency is the carbon content in fly ash. The petroleum coke as the fuel is with high carbon content, but different to burn. Thus, the carbon content in fly ash is higher. Performance tests are carried out on the 310t/h circulating fluidized bed(CFB) boiler and the carbon content in fly ash is high. In this paper, the important factors influence on high carbon content in fly ash are researched, such as particle size, bed pressure drop, bed temperature, the ratio of primary to secondary air etc. The reasons for high carbon content are researched, and some improvements are put forward. Its results have reference value for design and operation of CFB boiler burning mixed fuel of coal and petroleum coke.
