Lexical Evidence of Longchuan Dialect Belonging to Hakka Dialect

Abstract
Longchuan dialect is regarded as Hakka by some people while as Cantonese by others.This paper will try to identify the genre of Longchuan dialect through the comparison of vocabulary of Longchuan,Meixian and Guangzhoue,according to the 1230 words of 36 kinds in Vocabulary of Chinese Dialects.The result shows that Longchuan dialect has 861 same or mainly same words as Meixian dialect,taking up 69.9% of total.And has 711 same or mainly same words as Guangzhou dialect,taking up 57.8% of total.From the data above we can see that Longchuan dialect belongs to Hakka rather than Cantonese.
