Abstract

The experimental studies on the seismic behavior of three 1/3 scale low-rise shear walls, including a low-rise shear wall with concealed steel frame,a low-rise shear wall with concealed steel truss and a usual one,has been conducted.Based upon the experimental studies, the stiffness and its attenuation, bearing capacity, ductility, hysteresis property, steel bar strain, energy dissipation and failure phenomena of the shear walls are analyzed and contrasted each other. The experimental results show that the seismic behavior of the low-rise shear walls with concealed steel frame has been obviously improved and the seismic behavior of the low-rise shear walls with concealed steel truss has been significantly increased in comparison with the usual one.
